KLE Society, Belagavi

The sponsoring society of the KLE Academy of higher Education and Research, Deemed-to-be-University, Belagavi is the KLE Society, Belagavi. The KLE Society was established in 1916, and has over the years established itself as a rising star in the field of education and healthcare. The KLE Society celebrated its centenary year in 2015-16. This occasion was graced by Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. The KLE Society is unique as it was formed by seven visionary and dedicated teachers “Saptarshis” with philanthropic support from three generous Patrons. It is also unique in its association and governance, as it runs purely on democratic values and principles with a charitable objective. The Society has undergone rapid metamorphosis in the last 35 years as it has bloomed and blossomed from 35 institutions then to more than 310 institutions all over the country under the visionary leadership of Hon. Chancellor Dr. Prabhakar Kore now which in itself is an inspirational achievement. The collaborations with universities in the US, UK and Malaysia have added a whole new dimension to the K.L.E Society making it on par with reputed educational institutions worldwide. Under the unparalleled leadership the KLE Institutions has reached enviable heights. His spectacular chairmanship beyond 40 years, with the active support of his team of elected members, embodies the collective efforts of everyone in KLE, including 13,000 members of the trust, 1,38,000 students, and 18,000 strong faculty, in making KLE an international Education-destination.

KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, situated in Belagavi, Karnataka, is a renowned deemed university offering a spectrum of academic programs. With its inception in 2006, it has emerged as a prominent center for education and research. The university is dedicated to fostering excellence in various fields, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and allied health sciences. It boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a faculty committed to nurturing scholarly pursuits and innovation. KLE College of Pharmacy, Belagavi

KLE College of Pharmacy was established in 1968 in the pleasant environs of JN Medical College, Belgaum, with the aim of providing quality education in pharmaceutical sciences. The courses started with, Diploma in Pharmacy (1968) followed by B. Pharm (1975), M. Pharm (1988), the Ph. D Programmes (2000), M. Sc. in Clinical Pharmacy (2013) and eventually Pharm. D (2014). The institution became a constituent unit of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi, [Deemed-to-University] in 2009. Over the past 50 years of its existence, the college has transformed into a center of academic excellence, which is evident by unique milestones such as NBA with six years and NAAC accreditation with A+. The institution is ranked 37th among Pharmacy colleges all over India by NIRF (MHRD), in 2020, and was ranked 22nd consecutively in 2018 & 2019. All courses at the institute are recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and AICTE. The institute has a strong alumni association with over 2000 active members, who are placed globally at various positions in academics, Clinical, Industrial, Regulatory and Entrepreneurial services. The institute is also recognized as a Quality Improvement Program (QIP) Nodal Centre and recognized as Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CEP) center by the Pharmacy Council of India. It is only one of the two colleges in Karnataka to get students under the QIP program.

International Society for Ethnopharmacology, Switzerland

The International Society for Ethnopharmacology is particularly concerned about understanding the medicinal uses of plants in traditional societies. We seek to understand the cultural and the pharmacological dimensions of human medicinal plant use everywhere. The ISE promotes a critical discussion between everyone interested in local and traditional knowledge on medicinal, food and toxic plants and their past, present and future use. In many regions of the world such knowledge is changing fast and an ongoing concern of many members of the society is both a dialogue with the owners of traditional knowledge and to find ways to ascertain that such knowledge is passed on to future generations. Knowledge about traditional drugs/medicines is put into practice in different cultural settings in daily health care, nutrition, veterinary, hunting, pest control etc. We are interested in the perception and the interface of the emic and ethic perspective of such knowledge and we encourage and promote the future use of such local and traditional knowledge. Our research approach is The Society not only organizes regular meetings and promotes research and publication but also offers multiple ways to exchange information between scientists and anyone else interested in such topics.increasingly transdisciplinary trying to strengthen the link between the social and the natural sciences.

Society for Ethnopharmacology, India

Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFE) is constituted by the eminent academicians, researchers, industrialists with the vision of providing an environment for knowledge sharing among researchers, healthcare practitioners, and decision-makers interested in Ethnopharmacology. The Society is registered under the West Bengal Society Registration act 1961. The main motto of the society is to the dissemination of knowledge on Natural Health Products through the globalization of local knowledge and localizing global technologies. The society will organize conferences, seminars, symposiums, workshops etc. in different parts of India for discussion and sharing knowledge on different issues on cultivation, production, quality evaluation, safety, clinical studies, biological screening and several other issues of natural product research. The Society will help to inculcate the modern global knowledge on the herb, herbal remedies, herbal quality assurance, herbal trade and commerce and herbal drug development so that the person with local knowledge can be upgraded. It will form a bridge between the academic and industry to gather scientific and teaching professional in Ethnopharmacology and professional of another area interested in developing cost-effective natural remedies, under one umbrella. The Society will provide various scholarships and awards to the deserving students and scientist jointly with other organizations. SFE will act as a resource at a local level for individuals including students interested in Ethnopharmacology. It will help to encourage career growth and development for its members. The Society will publish newsletters, documents, books etc. for promotion of knowledge in the field of natural product research.
